Press Release: "Jay Silva set to replace Elvis Mutapcic"

SCC Middleweight Title Change-up: Jay Silva set to replace Elvis Mutapcic

Las Vegas, NV, Oct 26, 2011: Elvis Mutapcic has suffered a knee-injury during training and has been forced to withdraw from his title shot at SCC 3 on Nov 4th. Jay Silva (7-4) has stepped up to take on Bristol Marunde in the first ever SCC title fight.

“Elvis was very disappointed when he called me and told me what happened, he was very confident going in to this fight and looked at this as his biggest fight of his career” SCC promoter Ryan Langmaid said. “I am very happy with the signing of Jay Silva though. Jay has fought some of the best Middleweight fighters in the world, including Hector Lombard and Chris Leben, and this will definitely be a tough match-up for Bristol.”

Jay Silva currently trains alongside UFC notables including Mark Munoz and Jake Ellenberger, representing Reign MMA. Silva is a two-time UFC veteran and has also fought twice in Bellator. In his most recent fight he scored a first round KO against Jaime Jara, ending the fight in only 33 seconds.

SCC 3 will be held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, October 4, 2011. Tickets are available at www.superiorcagecombat.com.

The card features nine pro bouts, headlined by John Alessio (32-14) and Luiz Firmino (20-5). The card is stacked with UFC, WEC, Strikeforce and M1 vets, including well-known names such as James McSweeney, Emanuel Newton, Steve Lopez, Shane Nelson, Blas Avena and many more.
