John “The Natural” Alessio needs no introduction. After fighting in pretty much every big show that there is, he has found a home in the SCC. Alessio made his SCC debut August 20th choking out Shawn Fitzsimmons (who took the fight on 2 days notice). After a long successful career at Welterweight, John has decided to make the drop to the Lightweight division. Instead of being an average size Welterweight, he will now be a huge Lightweight! With almost 50 professional fights to his credit, "The Natural" has fought big names in the sport such as Pat Miletich, Luigi Fioravanti, Paul Daley, Pete Spratt, Thiago Alves and many more. Everyone is very excited to see what John can do at Lightweight and Luiz Firmino should be just the test he is looking for.
Luiz “Buscape” Firmino comes to us from Finney’s Hit Squad by way of Paraiba, Brazil. "Buscape" is a five time Pride vet, a three time Dream vet, two time M-1 vet, and a three time Shooto vet. Needless to say, he has a lot of high level experience and thinks he has what it takes to shut down John Alessio’s Lightweight debut. Firmino is a high level blackbelt in jiu jitsu, with a professional record of 20-5. He was only finished in one of those five losses, and that was one of the craziest kneebar/toeholds I’ve ever seen!
This should be a great Main Event, that could be the Main Event in any big show! We will see who moves closer to the Lightweight title shot, and who goes back to the drawing board.
