Originally from Angola, but raised on the East Coast, Silva worked as a bouncer in New York City prior to becoming a MMA fighter. He has fought some of the best Middleweight fighters in the world, including Hector Lombard and Chris Leben, and this will definitely be a tough match-up for Kendall Grove. Silva currently trains alongside UFC notables including Mark Munoz and Jake Ellenberger, representing Reign MMA. He is a two-time UFC veteran and has also fought twice in Bellator. In his most recent fight he scored a first round KO against Jaime Jara, ending the fight in only 33 seconds.
“He will try to rip my head off, and I will try to rip his head off – and everybody knows my style is to go out all day and fight and so is Kendall’s”.
Except for someones head being ripped off, Silva thinks the crowd will get to see some great striking from both fighters.
“I feel comfortable with my striking and I want to test myself. I think he’s the best striker I’ve fought so far, so I want to see if he can out-strike me, if he can put a ‘whoopin’ on me…”
And after this fight, Silva has his eyes set on another shot at the title.
“I hope SCC will be here for a long time, and I want to fight for the belt again.”
