John Gunderson became the inaugural SCC Lightweight Champion with a third-round victory over Justin Buchholz. In the Main Event of the night, a match-up of former UFC Middleweights, Jay Silva choked out Kendall Grove in the second round.

Kendall ”Da Spyder” Grove (14-9) has fought 13 times under the UFC banner, and will on Thursday the 16th make his debut in the SCC hexagon. The TUF season three winner will headline the event against tough opponent Jay Silva, and we met with Grove to hear about his thoughts on fighting Silva, and his future with SCC.
”I want to go out there and shut these critics down. I read some articles saying ’he’s washed up, get him out of MMA’ but that’s just more motivation for me to go in there and be a headliner, be a champion, and prove my legacy in the sport.”

When matchmaker Joey Varner heard that Paulo Bananada was going to be in California in February training with Anderson Silva, and also visiting and training with Eugene Jackson, he saw the opportunity of getting Bananada on the SCC 4 card. We caught up with the very talented Brazilian, and talked about his camp, and his upcoming fight against Dominique Robinson.

SCC today announced that agreements have been reached for a number of fights that have been added to the SCC4: Grove vs. Silva card. A new addition to the main card is the SCC debut of TUF vet Jamie Yager (5-2), as he takes on Vegas local, and Strikeforce vet, Danny Davis Jr (6-5).
SCC returns to the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on February 16th, 2012, as the promotion hosts SCC 4.

After Rob Emerson was forced to withdraw from SCC 3, Luiz "Buscape" Firmino (20-5) has stepped up to take on John Alessio for the evening's main event.
